Happy Holidays! I hope you had a great Christmas and are gearing up for a fun New Year’s Eve. Just wanted to pop in and share this glittering dress that would be fun for New Year’s Eve and share a peek at where we’ve been hiding away, as Villa Golightly gets her makeover as she becomes the Modernism Week Show House. Say hello to The Lawrence at Old Las Palmas, a luxury vacation rental house by Acme House Co.

The road to the Modernism Week Show House has not been dull. A month ago, we moved out of our house so that demo could get underway.
We needed somewhere to stay for the first three weeks of December and were so lucky to call The Lawrence at Old Las Palmas home.
Designed by celebrity designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, The Lawrence is a luxury vacation rental house in Palm Springs available from Acme House Co.
While being the Modernism Week Show House is super fun, it also comes with many of the stresses that any home renovation does, such as…
Having to make a million tiny and big decisions in a short period of time, having to move, watching your house get demolished…
And encountering the dreaded B word…budget.
So having a quiet place to escape to was not only a treat, it was a necessity.
I’ll be sharing more photos and details soon, but for now here is a peek.
The house was designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard, designer to royalty and celebs the world over (the Kardashians are clients), so glamorous touches were everywhere, down to the Hollywood-inspired vanity in the master dressing suite.
The marble fireplace was bananas and we spent many nights — including Fred Baby’s birthday! — cozied up by the fire.
I also loved the art. This piece, a photograph with tattoos hand-painted onto Liz Taylor, actually was at last year’s Modernism Week Show House in the dining room that Martyn Lawrence Bullard designed. It was a fun full-circle moment of sorts.
The house itself is very relaxing, with bocce ball, an outdoor fire pit, and a sparkling pool…
But it also inspired you to want to dress the part.
Vogue, anyone?
If you’re looking to treat yourself in the New Year and live the Palm Springs dream — or perhaps you’re on the hunt for a place to stay during Modernism Week, The Lawrence will not disappoint.
And don’t be surprised if it comes with a double rainbow.
You can see more photos of The Lawrence at Old Las Palmas and book a stay here.
