Cute outfit for Palm Springs. #kellygolightly

I’ve been living in color this summer: pink, yellow, blue, more yellow. And today: green! When I was little, green was my favorite color. In fact, it was my first favorite color. Do you remember your first favorite color? Is is still your favorite color now?

My sister’s was always blue, mine was always green. At least through elementary school. Once I hit middle school, it was purple all the way. I wonder what it is that attracts us to color, and makes certain ones resonate with us. Color has a HUGE effect on my mood. If I am in room of colors I don’t like, I want to get out stat. If I see a car in a hue that bums me out, I get agitated. Likewise, pink, yellow, orange and blue always make me instantly happy. Hence, my love of Palm Springs and her colorful doors!

But back to green. It instantly makes me nostalgic. I think back to my childhood of growing up in New Jersey, of running around our green grassy lawn in the summertime, making a wish on dandelions, and chasing lightning bugs.

Do certain colors evoke different emotions in you or bring back memories? I’d love to hear…

Sizing: This dress runs large so I would size down a few sizes. I’m wearing a 00 dress and am 5’4″ 100 lbs, and usually wear a 2 in dresses. A 00 Petite would probably have been even better, as the armholes are a little roomy. I’m wearing a 39 shoe (and am a 7.5/8).
