home

Hello, my dears! How are you? We are back from London and Paris and I just wanted to pop in to say hello since it’s been a few days and I missed you! We had a great time but were both so ready to be home. As soon as we left our apartment in Paris and were in the car for the airport, I started feeling not so hot. And cold. And hot. And hungry. And blurg. My body was so confused. I think I was so exhausted. Traveling east is always rough — the jet lag’s a bear and I never quite feel like I get over it. (Does that happen to you too?)

So when we landed yesterday, we headed straight home where I fell onto the bed and didn’t move an inch or wake up for eight hours (eight hours!). When I woke up I asked Fred Baby what he did while I was sleeping and he replied, “I just caught up on work.” I said, “Oh, in the office?” And he said, “No, I was right next to you the entire time.” I was so zonked I didn’t even hear the tapping of the keyboard or sense that he was mere inches away. I think all that pain au chocolat finally caught up with me because I was comatose.

I woke up at 11:30 last night thinking I’d have a hard time falling back asleep, but after a quick bite, I was out like a light until 5 this morning. Do you ever feel like you need a vacation after your vacation? Well, we were both feeling like that and decided to hop in the car first thing this morning and recuperate in Palm Springs. It’s weird going from snow on the ground one day to palm trees and 70 degrees the next. But it’s a transition I fully embrace. I’ve got lots of work to catch up on, writing assignments to finish (um, and start!) and errands to run, but I can’t wait to call our families, hop in the pool and eat Mexican food.

I’ll be sure to share vacation photos soon — and have some fun things to share on the blog shortly — but I just wanted to say hi first. Hi! It’s good to be home.
