Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers. Are you going out? Staying in? Forgetting about this day altogether? Or do you live for this holiday of hearts? Here’s my take & a few last-minute Valentine’s Day ideas.

I, for one, love Valentine’s Day! I dig the schmoopiness and find the history of Valentine’s Day to be fascinating, if not a little confusing and startling. Fred Baby and I got an early start in the celebration department by attending a vintage-themed Modern Mambo party in Palm Springs last night at Caliente Tropics to kick off Modernism Week. I got to wear a twirly vintage dress (here’s a peek) and we felt like we were at a Mad Men prom. It was awesome! And then this morning my sweet Fred Baby spoiled me with breakfast in bed and this beautiful bouquet. (He’s the bee’s knees.) And even though he knows red roses are not my favorite bloom, our history with them makes them a must and a Valentine’s Day tradition, one in which I cherish. Here’s to the unexpected, mystery Valentines, and sweet moments today and always.
