Have you heard of the Coral Pink Sand Dunes? We came across them on our Big Summer Roadtrip. Here’s a peek, plus the pink pencil skirt I wore (which is now on sale for only $33) and how to style it!

CORAL PINK SAND DUNES

The Coral Pink Sand Dunes are located in Southern Utah. The ruddy sand makes you feel like you’re on Mars. While the official Coral Pink Sand Dunes are pretty, even more magnificent is an area right down the road called Sand Hollow State Park.

SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK

We came across the Sand Hollow State Park area when we were searching for places to stay near Zion National Park.

We ended up renting a brand new 5-bedroom house in Sand Hollow Resort for only $170/night. Of course it was 95 degrees in August, but compared to Palm Springs in August, it was quite tolerable.

I’d never heard of the area, so wanted to share it.

We worked during the days, and then went out on evening adventures. With the late sunset, we were able to hit up  Zion National Park one evening, rent ATVs and tool around the dunes another, and Odee even went swimming (voluntarily) on her own for the first time! It was pretty special that it happened to be in a crystal clear lake (the water reminded me of Grand Cayman), with bright pinkish red sand beneath her.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, the sand is really silty and shockingly doesn’t stain. After Odee had been digging like a mad woman in the Coral Pink Dunes (in the photos above), her fur had turned from white to red. What a sight! But then Fred Baby ran her down a paved road really fast and nearly all of the sand shook right out. Like a magic trick. Haha.

MORE GEMS IN THE SOUTHWEST

We hope to go back to the area when it’s a bit cooler and explore more in the region, like Antelope Canyon and Bryce Canyon.

There’s so much to see in the Southwest!

It’s the best for a roadtrip.

Have you ever been to this area of the country?

HOW TO STYLE A PINK PENCIL SKIRT

I scooped up this pink pencil skirt in the Nordstrom sale last month. Actually, it’s called a pink utility skirt, as it has streamlined cargo pocks.

While I usually go for flowier silhouettes, the styling on the model swayed me to get this skirt. The model was wearing this slouchy purple sweater, which I also nabbed in the sale. It’s nice and soft, so I’d recommend it.

But back to this pink skirt. At 90 degrees, it was too hot to wear with the sweater, so I tossed on my favorite cactus button down from Katie Kime. I love this button down on its own, but it would also look cute under a sweater, as the weather cools down.

Anyway, the skirt is on sale for only $33, if you’re in a shopping mood!

Thanks, as always, for reading. Hope you’re having a great day xo!
