I was desperately craving a strawberry milkshake. I blame someone on TV for the mere offhanded mention of one (oh, and this). So we headed to The Counter on Sunset to satiate the obsession craving.
The chicken burger with avocado, Gruyere and fried egg — and the french fries — were merely to keep the milkshake from feeling lonely. I’m a giver, I know.
Since I knew we were headed to a burger joint, polka dots just felt right. Sunday, Monday, happy days… Oh right, where was I? Yes, when I first picked up this punchy peach polka dot skirt from Zara last week (on sale for just $10!), I assumed I’d just toss it on with a white tank once summer rolled around.
But a last-minute epiphany that I should pair it with even more polka dots and sparkle and houndstooth and chevron led to this 1950’s sock-hop meets French girl meets cowgirl look.
Am I on a complete sugar high or does this actually kind of work? No, you’re on a sugar high, that’s why these pictures look blurry to you. Tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this screams strawberry milkshake. And dresses to complement my food.
p.s. I can resist a skirt (or dress) with pockets just as much as I can resist a milkshake. How about you?
