Have You Taken The Proust Questionnaire?

I love a good personality test — or even a bad one. Haha. So when I was listening to Armchair Expert yesterday (episode: Bateman Returns) and Dax and Monica brought up The Proust Questionnaire, my ears perked up.

While I’ve heard of The Proust Questionnaire for years, I’ve never actually taken it and thought it could be fun to do here!

It definitely could make the upcoming evening or weekend more captivating, especially, if like me and my beloved, you’ve run out of things to talk about.

The other day, struggling to engage Fred Baby in conversation, I proclaimed, “Well, we finally know the answer. It takes 20 years to run out of things to talk about.” He quipped, “No, it takes 6 months in isolation.” Touché, touché.

What Is The Proust Questionnaire?

According to Vanity Fair, “the Proust Questionnaire has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature.”

Intrigued? Me too! Shall we take the quiz?

Copy and paste your favorite Q and your A  in the comments!

I’ll do the same…

p.s. It’s pronounced “Proost” like roost not “Proust.” Does that remind anyone else of a Gilmore Girls episode?

p.p.s. I just ordered this book, in which 101 luminaries answer the Proust Questionnaire. Will be fun to read one each night before bedtime!

p.p.p.s. A fun 3-question quiz!
