Do you ever find something at the back of your closet that you had completely forgotten you had? That’s what happened with me and this swingy floral number. I was so happy to find it, I did the happy dance! (Actually I was so happy to be home from Vegas I did the happy dance — this is what I wore on the day we road tripped back from MAGIC). Don’t you just love a dress you can twirl in?
I picked up this vintage dress years ago at Screaming Mimi’s when we lived in downtown New York and Screaming Mimi’s was a dangerous three blocks away. Back then, I was in the habit of buying amazing vintage pieces (sequin bolero tops, possible wedding dresses) and then proceeding to let them sit in my closet for years without ever letting them see the light of day. Do you do that too? Or do you wear what you buy right away?
I find that I tend to unearth these items when packing for road trips… just one more reason to love road trips! And then I’ll wear the same thing for weeks on end. Maybe it’s that I know I love something but then get stuck on how to incorporate it into my wardrobe. I’m guessing I’m not alone?
WHAT I WORE: DRESS: Vintage (similar here, here, here, here and here); SHOES: Dolce Vita metallic flats (similar here and here); IPHONE CASE: Jonathan Adler
