My dears, last week I had the pleasure to compete in Battle of the Bloggers at Westfield Culver City mall here in Los Angeles, a contest organized by Two Point Oh! LA. Five LA fashion bloggers faced off in a spirited style competition where each of us got to style and model four looks from participating stores. It was a blast and now YOU get to vote on whose looks you love best (my fave look of my own is this Audrey Hepburn-inspired French tomboy ensemble above, from Forever 21). The winning blogger takes home a $500 American Express gift card and when you vote, you’ll be entered to win a $500 American Express gift card too, so you can go on a shopping spree of your own! I’d LOVE your vote! It’s easy peasy and just takes a second. My ever-supportive husband made this handy diagram to make it even easier (how cute is he?!):
1. Click here to vote on Facebook
2. LIKE Westfield Culver City (enables you to vote)
3. Click the red ‘click here to cast your vote’ button
4. Select Blogger #1: Kelly Lee (that’s me!)
5. Hit VOTE!
*Also enter your info if you’d like a chance to win a $500 American Express gift card too (not required).
Here’s hoping we both win! The winning voter gets to lunch and shop with the winning blogger, so I hope to be spending a fun-filled afternoon with you soon! (Note: You don’t have to be local to win and you can spend your AmEx gift card wherever AmEx is accepted, which is almost everywhere!)
Here are the rest of my looks, along with my inspirations:
My next look was inspired by style icons Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo. Both prove that classic black and white never goes out of style, and they both take shorts from beach to city-chic. This look is from Old Navy. (Note to self: Get a super rad statement necklace, stat!)
Okay, I admit I am addicted to black and white (as if you couldn’t already tell). Here I channeled another style icon, Rachel Bilson, and opted for a tribal-influenced black and white frock with a sexy-cool black blazer. All pieces are from Foreign Exchange, a store I had never heard of but quickly learned has many treasures. (And yes, I wish I would have pulled my hair back for this look, but you live and learn — and I really wish you could see the darling owl necklace I’m wearing with this dress.)
My final look puts a global spin on the little black dress, with ethnic-inspired accessories. Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Olivia Palermo pull this style off effortlessly and I show the wallet-friendly version from Old Navy. What you think? Remember, you can see all of the looks the bloggers styled and VOTE HERE!
Voting ends May 23, 2011.
