The whirlwind of Fashion Week is quite something, filled with many highs and lows.
The highs: making new friends + meeting your idols, getting snapped by 20+ photogs outside of Lincoln Center at the same time, being dressed for the shows by designers, sitting front row, toasting the city from the Top of the Standard as you take in 360-degree wraparound views of the twinkling New York skyline as I’m So Fancy plays at the BCBG party. Feeling SO grateful just to experience it.
The lows: FOMO when you’re not at a show or an event everyone seems to be at, getting standing room as your seating assignment, not being able to walk because you killed your feet in heels on day one, hangriness because you haven’t eaten a proper meal in four days. It’s a roller coaster and by the end I was feeling Fashion WEAK and SO ready to sleep in my own bed.
It certainly does something to you physically and mentally. As the sweet Liz of Late Afternoon says, I’ll take the open road over a catwalk any day. Here, here, sister. In any case, I am extremely grateful to experience it, but also so happy to be home and back here to process it and share the highlights with you.
I’ll be sharing more over the next week but you can catch glimpses of my Fashion Week adventures at #golightlyinthecity.
