An Ode to Kate Spade in Bisbee, AZ | Kelly Golightly

I’ve always wanted to go to Bisbee, Arizona after seeing this iconic Kate Spade ad campaign in Bisbee. Isn’t it funny the things that can inspire us to travel? I’m happy to say it’s one spot we’ve checked off of our travel list. Here’s a peek at this unusual spot…

ABOUT BISBEE

Bisbee is a quirky, old copper-mining town in southeastern Arizona and its inhabitants and surroundings are unlike any mix I’ve seen before: artists, bikers, hippies. The closest I can compare it to is Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown or 29 Palms/Joshua Tree, but it’s got a much different undertone (much darker, if you will).

While the town of Bisbee itself wasn’t exactly up our alley, the journey getting there absolutely was. Plus, we’re finding that even if we visit places whose destinations aren’t for us, they almost stick out more so because of that.

Have you ever had that happen? A bad experience or something that didn’t go as planned sticks in your mind more?

Overall, I’m just grateful to have experiences, good and the not so great.

And I’m definitely getting antsy and itching for more.

Where should we go next?

See our current Great American Road Trip list here + let us know what we should add!

Thanks to Kate and Andy Spade for inspiring this road trip and so much more.
