Despite Indian Summer, I am ready and willing to dress for fall. Hence, my wool plaid pants and lips sweater that I wore to dinner at La Scala last night.
Here’s what I wore and which celeb I spotted (hint: Her name wasn’t Lola, but she was a Showgirl)…
My friend Helen gave me these amazing plaid pants last year and while at first I struggled with what to wear them with, once I eyed this lips sweater, I knew I’d found my answer.
I was excited to wear my new blue suede shoes too, which make a great neutral for fall.
Given that I was living in denial as it still is 90 degrees during the day, I tied my hair up with my new Tied & True Bands to keep cool. You know how you always end up with a hair band around your wrist? These cleverly elevate that by adding a golden, charming touch. Such a great idea, don’t you think?
My friend Darcy just launched Tied & True and I think these bands make the perfect stocking stuffer — and feel so Tory Burch. Hair candy that doubles as arm candy? Sold!
It was a last-minute decision to snap these pics and we wanted to catch the incredible sunset and magic hour before the light disappeared, so our rooftop was the best option. But when we got upstairs we realized two things: 1) Our camera battery was dead and 2) Heels + a rooftop you’re not technically allowed to be on requires something more substantial to stand on, hence my very glam bathmat. It seems like the days fly by lately but I’m glad we were able to snap some photos, even if they were just with my iPhone. A girl’s gotta go with the flow, right?
Funnily enough, when we arrived at La Scala to meet our dinner date, we saw a woman pushing a stroller outside. Since our dinner date included a very special 7-week-old, I thought it was our friend. But then she turned around and we realized it was Jesse Spano! She was getting her order to go and I had to restrain myself from shouting Time, time, there’s never enough time! Which is just how we’ve been feeling lately. Oh, the irony.
Here’s what I wore:
J.Crew pants (old but similar here and here); ASOS sweater (no longer available); Cambridge Satchel Co. bag; Sole Society ‘Brooke’ shoes; Tied & True hairbands; Vintage earrings; Rougois watch (similar here and here); House of Harlow bracelet; LOFT bracelet c/o; Cynthia Rowley scarab ring (on sale here!); Revlon ‘Siren’ lipstick; Revlon ‘Dreamer’ nail polish
